I am pleased to report that the Nazarian For Penfield Campaign has successfully submitted our Nominating Petition. This means that we are now on the ballot for the election on November 3rd. The process of collecting the signatures involved more than a thousand conversations with the registered voters of Penfield and the result was nearly universal…the people of Penfield are tired of how things are with town government and they want something better.
Many subjects have been raised, and in the coming weeks they will be addressed in this space, both in writing and through video. If there is a subject you’d like to see me address, please contact me through the website and we’ll make sure it gets covered.
There is no question that for the first time in many years, the residents of Penfield have some qualified and relevant choices this fall. The great thing about legitimate competition, is that it raises the effort of every competitor, so that those watching can see each individual for who they are, how they perform and what they bring to the game.
The next several weeks leading up to the election will no doubt be interesting and “interesting” is one of the things Penfield Town elections have lacked in recent years.
In the course of walking many of the neighborhoods of Penfield, I came across a sign on
town property. The picture here is of that sign and I think it is a perfect metaphor for what our town has become. Penfield is a functional town, but with sloppy execution and we deserve better. If we can’t count on our town government to get the small stuff (like this sign) right, how can we possibly expect them to properly attend to the larger issues?

I look forward to many more conversations with you all, and I am convinced that together we can take Penfield from its state of mediocrity to the greatness we all deserve.
PS – The first five people to email me with the location of the sign in the picture will receive “Nazarian for Penfield” t-shirts. You better be quick because I imagine this sign is going to be removed/replaced soon.

Steve, what's your position
Steve, what's your position on the destructive increase in deforestation and frivolous housing development in Penfield? We have plenty of old housing stock that could be refurbished, and instead we are building new, expensive houses while destroying habitats. This is going to continue to raise the cost of living for those in the vicinity of these homes, and it's also going to destroy what environment Penfield has left.
