Why are you running as an independent?

Until recently, I was a registered Republican.  However, after the behavior I have seen from both parties in the past few years I am disappointed in Republicans and Democrats alike. I felt that if we were going to be successful bringing our message of fresh, innovative and creative government to the voters of Penfield, we needed to do it with a focus on Penfield.  Any support from or connection to a political party would only diminish what we’re trying to accomplish.  We are accepting donations only from individuals interested in supporting our cause.

Fortunately at the town level, a successful independent campaign is far more common that you will see at the state or national level.  I will be discussing the myth of the “2-party system” in an upcoming Blog post.
