About the Candidate

Steve Nazarian is an energetic, experienced and multifaceted individual.  He is a "Big Picture" thinker and has proven throughout his career that he can listen, lead, analyze and execute in just about any discipline.

Steve has spent 28 of his 40 years as a resident of  Penfield.  He and his wife Emily live at 143 Hillrise Drive in  Penfield Gardens with their four children:

Charlotte – 9

Lewis – 8

Oliver – 6

Lawrence – 5

Steve is currently employed as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Spinergy, an information distribution company in Rochester that specializes in CDs, DVDs and related products and services.  He is responsible for sales, marketing and customer service for this multi-million dollar enterprise. CLICK HERE to read his entire resume.

Steve was born in 1968 at the Fort Leonard Wood Army Base in Missouri where his father was serving during the Viet Nam war.  In 1969, the Nazarian family moved to Pleasant Way, just over the Penfield town line in Perinton.  Steve began his education at Penfield Village Nursery School.  In 1973, the Nazarians moved to Surrey Place in Penfield where Steve's parents Larry and Sharon Nazarian still reside.

Steve attended Harris Hill Elementary School, Bay Trail Middle School, and Penfield High School from which he graduated in 1987.  While at PHS, he was an active participant in sports, earning 12 varsity letters.  Steve also was active in PHS music and theatre.  In his senior year, he was editor of the Penfield yearbook, student representative to the school board and captain of the cross country, indoor track and spring track teams.  Steve was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 9, where he attained the rank of Eagle in 1987.

After leaving PHS, Steve attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA, where he earned a BA in English & theatre.  After college in 1992, Steve moved to New York City to pursue opportunities in acting and writing.  After coming to the realization that the entertainment business was not for him, Steve began what has been a diverse career in communications sales and marketing.  For specific details CLICK HERE to read his entire resume.  After many interesting experiences in the metro New York area, Steve returned to Rochester in 1998.  In May 1999, he and Emily were married and they moved into 39 Hilltop Drive in Penfield.  Their daughter Charlotte was born in 2000, then in 2001 came their son Lewis.  In the spring of 2002 with son Oliver on the way, Steve & Emily purchased 143 Hillrise and moved in that August.  Two months later, Oliver arrived.  In January 2004, their son Lawrence was born.

Steve has returned to his roots in many ways.  He has just completed three years serving on the Board of Directors for Penfield Village Nursery School and Kindergarten.  This fall, all four of the Nazarian Children will be attending Harris Hill Elementary, and Steve is currently the Pack Committee Chairman for Cub Scout Pack 9.

The Nazarians attend The Church of the Assumption in Fairport where Steve and Emily started a cooperative babysitting service for Sunday Mass.   Steve has also assisted with teaching Sunday school and some church finance initiatives.
